Life

So I am keeping busy this summer. I just started a class on line which I am actually enjoying. And I am doing pretty well in also. :) I still have not heard from the hospital if I have a job or not, but they told me I will be recieveing a call very soon!! Next weekend I am off to Iowa for the first wedding of the summer. The girl that is getting married is a long time friend who I have not seen in like 2 years! I will be very excieted to see her. And I found out one of my friends is going to the justice of the peace to get married on June 6 and then her husband will be leave for boot camp 5 or so days later:( for 5 months!! I dont know how she is going to do that:(
Not to much has been going on here. We had a party for memorial day (which we painted and mowed and everything else you could imagine 2 day s in advanced). The party was lots of fun and had alot of food left over (and example, mom made 5 pies and 2 cakes and a friend brought another pie and another dessert!!) Then we went over to a friends house that night and played cards into the night......
Andy I am so sorry I had to get off quick, I am so happy I got to talk to you!! It seems like forever since I had talked with you! We will have to do it soon again:)
I hope everyones summer is going well and everything,
Amanda---I hope you have a great time at camp!! Dont forget bug spray!
Doris---How are the wedding plans coming??
Well I will talk to you all later,

Summer Time

So my summer is become exciting. Yesterday (5-19-03) I was awaken around 3 in the morning to an annoing beeping sound. Come to find out it was the fire alarm. I was half alseep and did not smell smoke so I went bakc ot sleep. But right before I did, I heard Ruthie get up and dad came down the stairs. There was no smoke and dad figured it was the humidity since he turn the air up some. This has happended before. I guess we have a good fire alarm. At least I woke up to this alarm. The last time it went off on one of its "tests", I did not wake up!! Dad was kinda concerned about that!:)
This was just the beginning of a heckic day.
Who said living in the country is boring. I got to feel the excitment of the ER, but with out the hospital setting. (I love having a medical family.) Since most people around here know my family is in the medical field, they usually call on one of use when there is something major or minorly wrong. Yesterday was one of those days. An older couple in my church which lives a couple miles away from us called yesterday afternoon for help. The wife called and stated that her husband was bleeding very badly because he had fallen through bobwire while mowing. Now this older gentleman has been very close to death in the past year or two and has recovedred greatly. Mom and I ran around the house gathering bandages and supplies and rushed out the door. When we got their the elderly man was sitting on the ground (he had feel into an area where it was extremly muddy and the cow "waste" was if you catch my drift). He had moved himeself down the fence row and crawled out onto the grass. His arms were cut up very badly( which I was impressed that he had stopped bleeding since he is most likely on an anticoagulant(blood thinner). I saw the fat gobules hanging out of his arm and the muscle and all that fun stuff. Mom tried to being the cleaning, but it hurt him to much so we wrapped his arm with one layer of gauze and decided the ER would be the best decision. We had the help of another neighbor and we started to move him very slowly to try and get him in the car. We thought about calling the ambulence, however it would take to much time for them to get out to him and take hime to the hospital. We could make it in less time (We were later confirmed that we made it before the ambulence could have). The elderly man almost past out several times, how ever he did not. He refused to go to the hospital with all the mud on him. So we changed his clothing carefully and got him in the car. (He was worried about getting the car dirty). The wife drove while mom was in the back seat tring to make the ride as comfortable as possible. I followed with our car behind them. Once we got on the high way I tried to keep up, but decided it was best to stay around the speed limit since I did not have my licence on my at that time and did not want a ticket. Let me tell you that lady can drive!! She has done this several times in the past year of so though. ONce we got to the hospital I found a parking spot close by which is a miricle all in itself. I made it over to the car in time ot help get him in the wheel chair. Mom and I stayed out to clean ourselves up and also their car before going in to the wife.
This moring I found out that the had to perform surgery to do all the cleaning and he might have to have skin graphs. I pray he recovers quickly.
It took several washing offs and a shower to get clean from the mud. After this exciting event we came home to find a note to call a friend of the family who is only a couple years older than me who stated he was having low BP and was dizz when setting up. Mom called him back and talked with him for a while. Then Ruthie had a volien recital that night. After the recital we stopped by a friends house to tour it since she just had it built. We found out that her grandmother was addmitted to another neighboring hosptial with congetivve heart failure and other medical problems. !! WOW, let me tell you this was quite the day. Well I guess if I cant tell you events in my life in person I will have to settle for tellin ghtem on here! I hope you all are doing well and are having a great restful break!!!
I love you all!!!

YA for summer

School is out and summer is coming full throttle. I have gone shopping 3 times within like 5 days. I love summer. :) Ruth and I had an adventure going to Children's hospital in Cincinnati. We kinda took an unwanted detour and ended up going all over Cincinnati and being about 30 min late for my appointment. If you want to hear more about that I might have to talk or write it in an email. Long story:) So I have one more wedding to add to my list for this summer. I think the total count is up to like 6? The weddings start with Andrea's in Iowa in like 2 weeks. It will be fun to get away and see everyone in Iowa!! I still have not heard about a job yet. But I really hope I hear soon.
I miss all my girls!!! Doris, I hope you have a lot of fun and several good experiences in Thailand. Keep me posted on the wedding news:) Amanda, Ohh I love you:)!! Wow, It just seems like I was in here:) I had a meeting in here, but it was cancelled, so I am just doing alittle work and hanging out here. Today is our LAST day of classes!!! I am so very excieted and also scared. What will the future hold for me, I am not sure, but I am trusting that God has a plan for me, even if it is not what I want it to be. Pray, Pray hard for me:)

On the brighter note, It is not really raining out today. Just little sprinkles. I hope it will turn out to be a beut of a day.

Have I said how much I love my friends!:)

I have the greatest friends in the world. Doris wrote and Ode to Mary on her blog and it made me get tears in my eyes. If I was not in the nursing lab I would have cried. Doris I love you!! This might just give me alittle ummf (Not sure how to spell it, or if it is really a word, more like a sound effect I guess) Any ways:) I am in the nursing lab right now. I finished typing a paper for art and just playing around on the computer right now until Doris is done with her group. So I guess I will just keep typing and see what happens!:)
OH we get our nursing test back tomorrow. I don't know how I think I did. I am not sure how I feel about this nursing class stuff. I am so very aggravated at the SON right now! The is the nursing office by the way, not GOD:) I dont want to type about this right now because then I will get out of my simi good mood and will get stressed out.
Oh we found out that we (doris, amanda and I) are all going to Uganda for our senior trip. I really hope I pass nurisng to I can join my girls to AFRICA!!
Well, I think I will stop blogging and go do something, maybe even productive! Wish me luck:)
