MAD Day


Doris, Amanda and I all met for our annual MAD day this weekend. I booked the room in Doris's name because she was going to get there first. But then something came up and Amanda ended up being the first to get there. Except the hotel would not let her in! I hurried home from work took a quick shower, packed and raced over to the hotel. Which let me in because I had the credit card they needed. Then Doris came later that night. We went to walmart and ordered pizza from PAPA John's and just talked and caught up. On Saturday we went to Cliffty Falls and hiked some, drove around the mental health hospital and correction facility (something I had never done before) walked around downtown, tried some fudge, Doris got a Bubble Tea Drink, shopped around. Then we came back took a nap/watched a movie. Drove past the Lanier Mansion. Then went out for Chinese food, walked downtown and found an international festival. I never knew we had that festival. It was great. I wish we could have gotten there earlier because some of the booths were shutting down. But they had Honduran dancers that were there also. I miss Latin America, I really do:( After that we went to the downtown theater and watched "The Devil Wears Prada" It was not too bad. We went back, watched a few shows and talked some more. Then Sunday morning we went out for breakfast and then parted ways. It is so sad that this is all the time we have together. I wish we lived closer together. I miss the fellowship and friendships:(
