Finals

Well, today I took the last nursing final. We had one on Monday and then today. All I can say is that it is over and I am very glad!! Tomorrow we have off and then our Religion final on Thursday. We, Amanda - Doris - me, are all waiting for our evaluations from Boley. She is only giving us 5 min a piece, so..... Amanda just went up stairs to see if we have anything in our hanging folders. That is were we get all of our papers back in the nursing office.

I am so exhausted. All I want to do is take a shower and go to bed. But of course there is always stuff to do, so when we get back I image we will all take a nap and then do more work.
Oh, and Manda and I are going to Muncie for our Yellow Fever imm. tomorrow. I guess I am exceited about it, one step closer to Uganda!!

Today??

Okay, so I have only had one class today and I am already feeling tired and just want to go home and go to sleep. It's not like I have had a difficult day or anything, I just don't want to be here, but I don't know where I would or want to be if I was not here. I had the senior picture taken today. Hope it turns out:) I have lots to do, but still the list is becoming shorter. My major thing is now econ and studying for the nursing test on Monday. I really hope I do well on this test. The last one did not go as well as I would have liked and it lowered my average:( That was sad. I don't really have much to say. So bye-bye !

Thanksgiving

Amanda! You beat me to it! I just was about to blog and then say the title because Mary won't do it. Okay, so I am a little slow sometimes. Anyways I am going to try and sum up my break while Amanda, Tracy and Doris are all giving blood. I would be too, but they don't like my blood, I guess I am too sweet one way or another:)

Break

I got home Friday night, ate with my family and had a good time. Went to bed early since I had to get up at 5:30am to be at work by 7 (Not that I take that long to get ready, I just live in the country and leave at least 40 min to get to work). At work it was good to see old faces, but I had to get back in the routine of working again. I think I had 6 or 7 patients and did fine. It was kinda fun getting back in the setting. The next moring I got called in to work (Sunday morning). When I got there (around 9) one of the other PCA's came over and told me I had the front and that her or the other PCA really did not do anything for them since they knew I was coming in. Nice of them. So it took me alot longer to get all the bathe's done and trays past and everything else done! They helped me out some though, which was nice of them.
The next day I drove to Harrison OH to have blood drawn. I waited for about an hour or two so by the time I was done it was almost 12:30-1. Which I was still fasting. But did not have any problems which was good. I went shopping after we ate and then went back home. I went back into work on Tue and we had a pt who decided to listen to "BOB" and not the nurses and had a psych day. We ended up calling in the big guys who work in the hospital to control him, then the security came and then the pysch workers decided to evaluate him again. The next day I went to Cincinnati to the children's hosptial for my diabetic check up. I was in and out within an hour. It was weird!:) Oh and guess what! I lowered my Cholesterol. By like 60 points or what ever you want to call it.
Then it was thanksgiving day. I went to my mama and papa's with my two sisters because my mom adn dad drove up the night before. We found out that my aunt and uncle's house caught on fire and that they can not live or go back in for about 3 months. I am not going to go in detail because I feel like I have repeated it to much already and that everyone who reads this already knows about it, if you want to know more I will tell you if you ask:)
I had Friday off and worked Saturday and had a patient who had facial cancer for around 5 years and did not get any treatment for it. She was not responding the day I worked. I could see the bone in her nose and pretty much through her nose since it really was not there. A least one of her eye's was not in the socket. They said the eye was still there just really far down and was pretty much impossible to see. I saw the cancer that was growing on her face. I was imaginable. I had never seen anything like it. I would not wish it on anyone.
I came back to school to finish my ethics paper on Sunday after Sunday dinner. That is my thanksgiving break in a nut shell. Of course I watched movies (Santa Clause 2 excellent), saw people I hadn't seen in awhile, spent time with family which is always good, shopped several times (But on on the day after sale day:)), I am not sure about the chicken kissing thing Amanda mentioned and the house thing, only in my dreams!
Overall it was a fun week!!!

Yaaa only 7 days left of classes, wait that is bad. To much to do........

Because Mary won't do it

just a quick note to say that mary's the best! I thought that she needed a more recent blog...you should ask her about all the stuff that happened to her over thanksgiving break. stuff like houses burning down, chickens kissing her, and her sister buying her a small 1 bedroom house...oh wait! that didn't happen :)

Oh well, mary...you're fun. I love you lots...we only have 7 more days of classes!!!
woo-hoo

love ya! amanda
